About This Game Star Valor is a Space Action RPG game where you are in control of your own spaceship, with a vast galaxy to explore, mine, quest, trade, fight and even craft your own weapons. If I buy a frigate I expect the damn thing to have 30 or more mod points higher then a ♥♥♥♥ing corvette, it's like the bigger ship you go for the more money you spend only to realise for some reason you can get a corvette that has 10 weapon slots and 120 mod points for cheaper, and the frigate i just got only have 60 mod points and 6 weapon slots how does that balance out? last time i checked the bigger the ship the more♥♥♥♥♥♥you can put on it/in it. I know your supposed to explore other solar systems but how are you supposed to do that when the AI has ships and weapons that out rank yours when they are supposed to be a level 10 shuttle and your in a level 20 frigate but they have 700 shield points and level 50 weapons and they are not a boss explain that to me.. As of Dec 13th (patch 1.1) I cannot recommend this game at this stage. Its very functional, very stable, and plays smoothly. However the lack of meaningful content, aka The Game, is extremely lacking. Every sector is for the most part structured the same way with few surprises. The biggest ships are easiest to kill (as they cant dodge your incoming weapons), and by the time your level is mid/late 20s and you have a nicely decked out Cruiser the tedium of exploring the rest of the galaxy sets in.. all i can say is...WOW...what a well made game...ive been looking for a game like this, and this one really hits the spot....it reminds me of when i fell in love with gratuitous space battles years ago...i love unlimited customization of ships....every ship is unique and gets your brain going....the physics engine is very fun with bigger mass having more inertia etc...the strategy is amazing, but it is also really fun to "play" when you use your strategy and ship builds....i am truly amazed what this dev has created....the Vision and the balance are the secret sauce of good games, and i think this one has it. I have already played it for hours and hours, and i have not seen anything that was buggy or felt unfinished...totally fun and playable....I also want to say i hate dumbed down tablet games that claim to have strategy and are just really shallow and lame....Ive bought so many of those, hoping for what this game provides...lots of depth and customization that my brain craves!!! thank you so much for making this game...i feel it has tons of potential as well for possibly multiplayer and other modes....a gem in my collection for sure...i feel like the dev is like a super boov human....to me it has factorio like status so I think its worth at least $30....i paid 6 on lunar sale so i feel i cheated the dev and will buy whatever dlc is put up if any...hehe...ok back to designing space ships! two thumbs up!!. I'm going to recommend this game but with the caveat of the flying/combat system being like Asteroids is not going to appeal to everyone. I like it, I'm just bad at it which makes combat hard.Outside of a few tutorial quests, the game seems to be pretty much open sandbox. You basically just pick your method of money making whether it be Mining, Combat or Trading and do that to upgrade your ship, equipment and weapons. Usually you will do a little bit of everything but you can specialize with your talent points as you level up.The energy system, although logical, took me some time to fully figure out. There are 3 systems that all draw from the same energy pool and you can raise or lower them from their default 100%. Many times I would be trying to raise a system only to be told I didnt have enough energy to do that. You have to look at your equipment and decide whats really necessary. Sure you can equip 2 shield generators and a shield booster but the energy drain would be so harsh you coudln't do much else. You have to look at your reactor and pay attention to your usage vs output.I think you are still pretty much in the 'newbie' zone of things until you get enough money to get your first Corvette class ship. Things really open up then. You can finally get a bigger ship battery and reactor which is huge.I'm sure I'll get my $11 worth of fun out of it I paid for it and it can only get better being EA.Some other thoughts, musings and tips:1) Remap your energy raising/lowering button keybindings. Q,E,R, is conveniant, Shift + Q, E, R is not.2) Shift is speed boost which uses your weapon energy. Lower Engine output to 67% to regain more energy then put it back up to 100% to boost. Boosting at 67% seems to do nothing.3) Some ships will sic drones on you which are too small to hit with normal weapons. You need to acquire/craft a 'Point Defense' weapon.4) Upgrade engine ASAP. Flying at 32 speed is much better then 22 when you are exploring a new system.Have fun!. Firstly, well done and please keep up the good work with this project. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed the difficulty involved with simply surviving the maps.As someone with limited experience in top down shooters, I am quite literally a sitting target for the enemy and so I have to rely on grinding quests, mining and potentially crafting in order to remain strong enough to compete in combat with opponents even 5 levels below me ( Tech level permitting ). Its a matter of who kills who first, fight/flight and strafing don't seem a viable option for me yet, so I must play cautiously. Other players may of course have the knack to dodge fire and strafe while still being able to hit their targets :PI have reached a point where I am attempting to attain honourable with The Syndicate in order to purchase one of their vessels and I am glad that there are such things as reputation and sufficient reason to pursue it.While the main quest only lasted a matter of minutes before I was seemingly left alone by my contact in control of this vessel and without much direction. Some might view this as being left to their own devices and therefore, unrestricted by a storyline. I happily give it a 6/10 for now, with many hours of free-roaming fun ahead.Thumbs up, Ante.. Despite being in early access, this game is great and good for 10-20 hours of gameplay per game with the current features. The developer is very active in his discord forum, and is very welcome to suggestions and ideas.Currently there are many different ships and lots of weapons, equipment, and other goodies to keep you occupied. If you like scouring the galaxy to find the best parts, upgrading them and shuffling them around to make the best ship for whatever your play style is, then this is the game for you.Always excited to see what is coming next!
